We welcome all cyclists and visitors interested in our French and international event  the 2017 UCI Gran Fondo World Championshipsin Albi. From the design of the 2017 Albi Cycling project, we relied on the city of Albi, we received an enthusiastic welcome from Stephanie Guiraud Chaumeil, Mayor, Michel Franques, Deputy Sports and County councilor, as well as the club Albi Velo Sport ’s experience in organizing high level cycling events. The national authorities of the French Cycling Federation have heard, David Lappartient President of the FFC and the European Cycling Union, UCI Vice President supported our candidacy with the UCI and this is how we organize these UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in 2017, succeeding Perth with pride and with great hope to host all amateur cyclists in our beautiful South West region of France Occitane

Thursday August 24th

  • Opening of the Show Vel 'Occitanie, Expos Park
  • 8.30 a.m/5 p.m
  • Individual Time Trial Races, 22.4 kms
  • Start and Finish, Albi Motor Racing Circuit
  • 12.30 and 5.30 p.m: Awards Ceremony of Worlds Champions Jerseys and medals
  • 8 p.m
  • Greed Festival on the Cathedral Sainte Cecile Esplanade with local products and wines
  • 8.30 p.m/10 p.m
  • Official speeches, Countries presentation, parade

Friday August 25 th

  • 5 p.m/7 p.m
  • Team Relay race, around the historical Center of the City; Start and Finish Sainte Cecile Cathedral Esplanade
  • 8 p.m
  • VIP dinner organized at the Expos Park
  • Cultural scenes  in the Center

Saturday August 26th

  • Day off
  • 5 p.m
  • Official reception at the City Hall, 200 persons

Sunday August 27 th

  • 9 a.m/ 5 p.m
  • Road Races
  • Start Albi Cathedral, Finish Motor Car racing Ground. 2 routes, 155 kms and 97 kms
  • Following, Awards and Jerseys Ceremony
  • Closing of the UCI Granfondo World Championships 2017

The road race circuits will start in the heart of the Episcopal City. The international field for both races will pass along the river Tarn, before exploring the vineyards of Gaillacois. Circuit of 155 kms for all the men categories under 60 years old and 97 kms for all the female categories and men + 60.
